Líbeznice bypass commissioned

On 29 July 2011, The Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic (ŘSD) has commissioned a Líbeznice bypass near the CR's capital Prague. The I/9 road begins at the intersection Zdiby (and the D8 motorway) and then leads to Neratovice, Mělník, Česká Lípa, Rumburk and the state border with Germany.
Further extension of the D1 motorway

The Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic (ŘSD) has commissioned nearly a 7km stretch of the D1 motorway on 11 July 2011.The new part is between Hulín and Říkovice on the borders of Zlín and Olomouc regions. The length of the motorway has been extended to 346 km.
Main route along the Elbe River in Ústí nad Labem widened

In Ústí nad Labem, one of the most complicated transportation hubs in the city has been rebuilt. The location of the new construction is on the I/30 road between Pražská and Přístavní streets. The area, which used to be flooded regularly several times a year, has been rebuilt to stand a level of a five-year flood. The construction, which began at spring 2009, has been now put into operation by The Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic (ŘSD).
Třemošná bypass commissioned

On 28 July 2011, The Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic (ŘSD) finally completed a three-year lasting construction of Třemošná bypass, 3.8 km in length. The construction is a part of the I/27 Pilsen-Most road and it diverts the traffic away from the city center and thus brings better environment for the residents and save of time for the drivers.
Road and Motorway Directorate preparing measures for building bridges – to greater efficiency and savings

The Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic (RSD) continues the process of savings on the road transport infrastructure projects. A new feature is a series of measures for more effective bridge constructions. This is a completely new approach, aimed at installing new rules of preparation and construction.The proposals newly include eg. separate tenders for the bridges only, or a sample catalogue.
Hrádek through road on I/11 road operational

A new 3.3 km long stretch of the I/11 road between Slovakia and the R48 road near Český Těšín was opened yesterday, 16 May 2011. The construction was brought about by modernisation of an adjacent railway and was thus a joint investment of the Railway Infrastructure Administration (Správa železniční dopravní cesty) and the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic (RSD). The completion of the the part of the road is to improve the flow, safety and the traffic flow capacity.
ŘSD may save up to CZK 15 billion with a new way of building wildlife crossings

The Road and Motorway Directorate will start using a new method for the design and construction of ecoducts (wildlife crossings), which will both save funds and be more environmentally friendly, this year. In the past, the construction of ecoducts (a major and broadly discussed environmental issue) lacked efficiency in particular in terms of balancing the environmental and economic aspects.
Travel time estimates to be displayed on the D2 and D5 motorways

Drivers will receive more information about capacity and traffic loads on motorways in the Czech Republic beginning on 24 January 2011. The Road and Motorway Directorate (Ředitelství silnic a dálnic ČR) and its partners have completed initial testing and verification of the travel time estimation system and will now show the information on a trial basis on variable message signs, first on the D2 and D5 motorways (Brno – Slovakia and Prague – Plzeň – Germany, respectively).
The RSD to engage specialists from the CVUT in preparation and planning of road infrastructure development

The Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic (RSD) will closely cooperate with the Czech Technical University in Prague (CVUT) during planning, preparation and realisation of road works.The key role of the CVUT specialists will be the opponent's review of projects and structure pricing to achieve a more effective structure preparation and the overall planning.That, according to the new RSD management, will lead to greater savings in the whole segment of road infrastructure development.
Zlín Region Connected to Motorways

The Roads and Motorways Directorate will hold a festive opening on 3 December 2010 of a new, 18.5 kilometres long, section of a motorway between Kroměříž and Otrokovice. A five-kilometre-long section of the D1 Motorway and a 13.5 kilometres of the R55 speedway will cross at the so-called Moravská křižovatka (Moravian Crossroads) near Hulín. Commencing on 3 December 2010, Zlín and the entire Zlín Region will thus be connected by motorway to Brno and Prague, as well as to the rest of Europe.
